In my youth, I worked as a plumber, but after ten years, decided to change vocation. Following that, and after a number of years study, I worked for the Education Department as a teacher in the Technical and TAFE Divisions. A satisfying twenty-nine years saw me take early retirement. It was then I was bitten by the writing bug.
I joined the Victorian Writers Centre, and the Australian Chapter of The Romance Writers of America, where I received excellent advice and guidance from many of the members.
I undertook several creative-writing courses, began writing novels, but became frustrated by the lack of progress with publishers, which enticed me to undertake a script writing course. I have now had several short stories published and a number of stories read on radio. Script writing is my main, but by no means, only, form of writing.
My most recent accomplishment has been the opportunity to do the initial adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to the stage. This million dollar production is now being performed in Melbourne, Australia, and will tour other capital cities in the near future.
I found it an adventure, and a learning curve, working with the genius of Bill May (co-producer) and Nadia Tass (director).
